The DECHEMA Plaque for outstanding services towards accomplishing DECHEMA’s aims and work for the common good will be awarded on the occasion of the Opening Session of ACHEMA on 10 May 2009 in Frankfurt am Main to two distinguished personalities:
Dr. Sebastian Muschelknautz, Linde AG, will be awarded for his outstanding commitment to the promotion of research on safety technologies, to their implementation into industrial practice and to the strengthening of communication structures relevant to safety issues.
He has been a member of the DECHEMA-Section „Safety Technology“ since 1995 and managed the Research Committee “Safety Technology in chemical plants“ from 1997 to 2007“. From 2000 until 2003 he was also member of the board of this section. He initiated a range of events on safety technology at the annual DECHEMA meetings and at ACHEMA.
Prof. Dr. Peter Dietz, TU Clausthal, will be awarded the plaque for his scientific merits that have lead to a better unterstanding and to the development of apparatus in the field of chemical engineering as well as for his successful initiatives in the development of research benefitting the process industries.
Since 1992 he has been managing the working party “Stress-related Construction“. Already in 1997 this working party united – due to his initiative – with the GVC-Committee “Apparatus, Construction and Manufacturing“. GVC is a community for engineers in the fields of chemical engineering and process engineering. Peter Dietz has a large part in the intensification of the cooperation between DECHEMA and GVC and in the reorganization of the committes and working parties within the newly-formed subject divisions.
