ESTEC is a novel information system on Environment, Sustainability and its TEChnical aspects, jointly published by FIZ Technik and DECHEMA. ESTEC has been especially developed for engineering experts as a guide to the relevant literature in these fields.
ESTEC aims at builing interdisciplinary information bridges between environmental issues and technical and chemical engineering approaches. Main topics include:

ESTEC provides a sophisticated and user-friendly tool to identify the relevant literature for your specific projects.
ESTEC records comprise the bibliographic information of more than 400,000 environment-related publications and an informative abstracts in English and/or German. The literature is categorized and indexed by classifications, thesaurus indexing terms and keywords.
The web-based TecFinder search mask offers a broad range of search
options and allows to create eitehr straightforward or complex search
strategies and further detailed analysis and refining of the results.

"Knowledge" is an essential prerequisite for scientific and economic success in the engineering field. Both publishers of the ESTEC database, DECHEMA and FIZ Technik, have longtime experience in the development and production of sophisticated information systems.
Since 1972, FIZ Technik focusses on knowledge management in the engineering field. The well-known TEMA® - Technology and Management database comprises more than 4 million entries and is one of the most comprehensive information systems for engineers.
Already in 1952, the DECHEMA started with its first literature information system for chemical and process engineers. Now, the CEABA®-VtB (Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts - Verfahrenstechnische Berichte) database encompasses more than 725,000 records from 1966 onwards.
ESTEC is a joint project comprising the environmentally relevanat data from both sources TEMA® and CEABA®-VtB, and thus combines the expertise of both partners.
