In the long tradition of the European Symposium on Applied Thermodynamics the ESAT 2012 will bring together once more researchers from all over the world who are interested, among other topics, in molecular and statistical thermodynamics, modeling and prediction of thermophysical properties of complex systems. The recent efforts in this field have resulted in models, methods, and tools that allow not only solving academic problems but also contribute substantially to industrial research and development.

The conference represents a unique opportunity to gain an overview of the state of research and its applications in the developing of engineering models.

Now the ESAT conference will come back to the Berlin region together with the Annual Meeting of ProcessNet and VDI GEU Working Parties on Thermodynamics. We are very confident that this exciting location is generating an inspiring experience for all participants.
