Poster programme

Since its foundation in the year 2002, the "Green Solvents" biennial conference series has been established as a unique platform for the discussion of scientific progress and industrial implementation of advanced fluids in chemical synthesis and processes. The approaches discussed comprise aqueous phases, ionic liquids, supercritical fluids, green organic solvents, and liquid polymers, including also phase-separable reagents and solvent-free processes.

Some 150-200 scientists and engineers from academia and industry discuss these approaches in a thematically structured programme with no parallel sessions allowing for the comparison of different strategies and cross-fertilization between complementary methodologies. Focus topics include:

• Green Chemistry and solution phase synthesis

• Catalysis (heterogeneous, organometallic, biocatalysis, and organocatalysis) and catalyst
   immobilisation

• Synthesis of materials using advanced fluids

• Process intensification in synthesis and purification processes

• Physicochemical properties of alternative solvents, as related to chemical synthesis

• Reaction engineering for advanced fluids

The lecture programme consists of a special Sunday evening lecture, keynote lectures and submitted oral presentations. The poster session plays a key role for the discussion of cutting edge results in the field. Special low rates and support for young scien-tists and PhD students facilitates their active participation.

The 2014 edition of the "Green Solvents Conference" will be held in the beautiful historic city of Dresden. As part of the world cultural heritage, Dresden offers numerous cultural attractions, including the famous Frauenkirche and Zwinger, and the Old Masters' Picture Gallery. In the tradition of the conference series, a social programme with ample opportunity for informal discussion and networking will be offered taking advantage of this unique setting.

We look forward to seeing you in Dresden in 2014.

Walter Leitner, Peter Wasserscheid, and Ken Seddon
